Our plans for Friday night were to go bar hopping all over Hillcrest and end up at a club, either Rich’s or Eden. One of my favorite things to do is go bar hopping, mainly because I never really like staying in one place for too long. 2 of my friends also have the same birthday as me so we thought we’d have one big giant group of all our friends parade from bar to bar. It was pretty awesome. Friday night was mostly a blur, and I’m not quite sure how many bars we managed to get to before ending up at Rich’s, but regardless…I know I had a lot of fun. I was also really happy a lot of my friends were able to make it out to celebrate with me.
I had an amazing time Friday night! But the fun didn’t stop there! We had a fun filled weekend to celebrate my birthday. Saturday we went to West Hollywood and on Sunday we went to Disneyland! I’ll post more about it soon…just as soon as I steal everyone’s pics from their facebook! =)
After dinner, before heading home to get ready for our night time birthday festivities, Pooh said it’d be nice to grab a drink at Martini’s Above Fourth. I thought it was sweet of him to want to have a celebratory drink with just the two of us before we met up with all of our friends. To my surprise, a couple of my friends were already at the bar waiting for us! They threw me a little mini surprise pre-party before we partied the night away. They even made me a cake! Thanks Chucky! =)
It glowed and changed colors!
We had a few cocktails and then headed home to change and get ready for the night time birthday festivities! Pooh was so very sweet to set up that little surprise for me. I love him so much!
My birthday was this past Friday, April 20th. Pooh took me out for a lovely dinner at Searsucker after work. We’ve been meaning to check the place out for some time now so we were both excited to finally try it.
We started with the Shrimp & Bacon Grits. They were absolutely amazing. I honestly loved them much more than my entree. The flavors were so bold and it had just the right amount of heat and spiciness. Though the grits weren’t completely loaded with bacon, the bacon flavor was very present and made everything taste frikkin amaze balls.
Pooh ordered the Duck =) I’m not really into Duck, but it was pretty yummy. The dish wasn’t very complex but it’s simplicity helped make the main ingredients shine.
I ordered the Scallops. They were delicious! I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting the scallops that I saw on Yelp and on Searsucker’s website, but I still enjoyed my entree. I love when my scallops have a strong crisp sear.
Chocolate Lava cake for dessert! It was so pretty I didn’t want to ruin it…but we dove right in!
Dinner with my boo was perfect! After dinner we headed home to get dressed and ready for the night time birthday festivities!
